The Oakham Botanica

This one came home for free and immediately tested my optimism.

Layers of paint. Shelves with independent opinions. Hardware that had clearly checked out years ago.

So we stripped it back — properly.

The solid wood body was fully sanded and brought back to life. Structural shelves were rebuilt where they actually mattered. The non-essential vintage waves? Preserved. We respect history.

Now finished in a deep Oakham tone with warm wood framing and brushed brass hardware, it’s grounded, calm, and just a little bit moody. Open the doors and there’s a subtle botanical surprise inside — because why not.

It works in a soft, linen-toned bedroom.
It anchors a living room without shouting.
